• Chronic Low Back / Neck Pain

  • Chronic Low Back PainYour spine is a miraculous and well-engineered structure of bones, nerves, joints, ligaments and muscles that all work together. They provide strength, support and flexibilty to allow you to move throughout life. However, because it is so complex, it is also susceptible to pain and injury. If you have been dealing with back or neck pain, you have probably heard the term “chronic pain”. This is defined as pain that has lasted over 3 months, and it is usually sever and doesn’t respond to initial treatments. Chronic pain the neck and back are commonly caused by:

    • Bugling or herniated discs are the most common cause of low back & neck pain.
    • Disc degeneration is caused by the drying out of the disc area. Over time, or through injury, dried discs will crack and induce pressure on nerves resulting in extreme muscle tension and pain.
    • Spondylolisthesis is another degenerative spine condition that is characterized by the displacement of one vertebra over another in which slippage can occure in any direction. Because of the pressure put on our lumbar spine, this is most commonly found in the low back.
    • Spinal Stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal that houses the spinal cord and nerve roots of the spine.

Any of these degenerative spinal conditions can cause persistant and debilitating back and neck pain. Spinal Decompression has been found to help pull nutrients and water back into dehydrated and degenerated discs. If you have been in pain for more than 3 months, it is easy to think surgery is your only option. Before going under the knife, make sure you explore non-surgical spinal decompression.
